shanghai

We arrived in Shanghai way too early in the morning and headed to the hotel to check in before we went out to explore. If anyone can squeeze Shanghai into 30 hours, its my mom.

We went to the French quarter and ate way delicious pizza. It was so nice to be somewhere that did not feel like Asia. We wandered around there for a long time before we headed over to the Shanghai Pearl Market which actually sells pearls.

After that we headed to the Bund and to walk around Shanghai's version of Time Square. It was super lively with tons of stores and people everywhere. After two and a half months without normal chocolate we went into the M&M store to get some high quality treats to snack on while we kept walking. We made it to the Bund about 5 minutes before the lights switched off so we only got a few pictures but it was still way cool!

On Sunday morning we found our way to the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. We got to feed tigers, elephants, lions, and lemurs! We also got to hold a three week old baby tiger. I might need to look into getting one as a pet it was so dang cute.

We barely made our flight back to Guangzhou and then on the taxi ride back to Zhongshan the driver had absolutely no idea where he was going so what should've been an hour and half drive turned into 5 hours. We got moved between three taxis in the middle of the night in the sketchiest areas so my mom totally thought we were going to get mugged. Not gonna lie, I was pretty freaked out too. We finally made it to the hotel and I taught the next morning. A total whirlwind weekend!
